PEORIA – Today, Senator Dave Koehler and Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth announced their endorsements of Congresswoman Cheri Bustos for re-election, citing her commitment to Peoria, strong advocacy for the people she serves and her work to deliver on the kitchen-table issues that matter most to communities in Northwest and Central Illinois.
“I’m going to take you back to 2011 when we had a Republican representing us in the 17th Congressional District, and many of us knew that we could do much better. I saw in her not only the desire, but the skills needed to do the job as our Congresswoman, and to do it very well. She has not disappointed me in any way,” said Senator Koehler. “In fact, I’m absolutely proud of the job that she has done.
“Whether you’re a farmer, a nurse, a laboreror business owner, you know that she has your back. She never misses an opportunity to talk to her constituents about the issues and the concerns that they are facing. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in voting for Congresswoman Cheri Bustos so she can continue being our voice in Washington.”
“Senator Koehler has been a strong advocate for our communities from day one – I am proud to have his support and honored to work alongside him. A hardworking and compassionate public servant, Senator Koehler listens to the needs of his constituents and works hard for the families of Peoria, Pekin and Fulton County,” said Congresswoman Bustos. “I look forward to continuing my work with him to deliver results for our communities across Northwest and Central Illinois.”
“Cheri Bustos has been a constant advocate for Peoria residents in Washington since her first day in office,” said Representative Gordon-Booth. “I am proud to have formed such a close bond with an outstanding woman of her character. Whether it was saving the Peoria Ag Lab or the constituent services she offers every day of the year, she has always had our backs. Let’s make sure we have her back now and re-elect Cheri Bustos to Congress!”
“Representative Gordon-Booth is a steadfast advocate for the hardworking families of Peoria, and I appreciate her support,” said Congresswoman Bustos. “I’ve been lucky to have a leader like Rep Gordon-Booth by my side, and Peoria is stronger for her service. I look forward to continuing our partnership working for Illinois families in Peoria and throughout Northwestern and Central Illinois.”
Now in her fourth term representing Illinois’ 17th Congressional District, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos is a leader in the fight to lower health care costs, rebuild our region’s infrastructure, help Illinoisans weather the COVID-19 pandemic, work to safely reopen the economy and deliver real results for hardworking families across Northwest and Central Illinois.
Senator Koehler has represented the Illinois State Senate’ 46th District – which is comprised of Peoria, Pekin and Fulton County – since 2006. For over a decade, Representative Gordon Booth has represented Illinois’ 92nd District in the House of Representatives.
